Compact automatic weapons that fire pistol cartridges; their large dense calibers and generally comfortable recoil make them effective weaponry at close distances. Despite the advancement and availability of assault rifles, certain military/law enforcement units still use these guns in sensitive counter-terror situations, especially in urban environments.
